NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. At tho twenty-first annual meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Asso-, ciation, to be held at Messrs. Thomson and Brown's rooms on Monday ovening, tho committee will report on the past year's operations,' which included the Australasian and New Zealand Championship tournament held at Christchurch. Tho report states:— The 1907 Championship meeting has boon delegated to the 'i'nrannki L.T. Association, and the meeting (championship events only) will be held at New Plymouth on December 26, 27, and 28, and will be followed by the Taranaki Championship and Handicap Tournaments on December 29, 30, and 31, and January 1. Tho total receipts for the season, including a balanac ol £15 14s. 3d., brought .forward from last season, amount to £S6 15s. 3d. Tho expenditure amounts to £44 Is., which leaves a balance of £42 14s. 3d. The assets amount to £112 19s. 9d., and the liabilities are nil. "Your commitcc," tho report continues, "after holding a searching inquiry into tho charges made through the Press against tho Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, of receiving secret commission and of giving trophies of less than the advertised value, decided that the charges had been completely reluted. Tho committee considered that the charges wero mado owing to a misapprehension on the part of tho gentleman who supplied tho information. Tho inquiry included the porsonal examination of Mr. Eric Taylor, lion, secretary of the Canterbury. Association, who, together with Mn Wright, tho vice-president ot that Association, came to Wellington for the purpose, and of the gentleman referred to, tho latter having expressed himself .satisfied with the statement of tho Canterbury Associa- . tion." .■'•'.
