HOSPITAL BOARD
The ordinary monthly meeting of the j Board was held in the Vincent County i Offices, Clyde, on Thursday, 22nd ult, 1 there being present Messrs J. .Ritchie (Chairman), D. S. Middleton, VV. Jellev, J. Swann, S. A. Stevens, C. Weaver, W. Bringans, J. McKnight and G. T. Alexander. Dr. Brown also attended. Before proceeding with the Order Paper the chairman referred to the death of the board’s architect, Mr 7. Y. Wales, and it was resolved to place on record the board’s appreciation of the excellent services he had rendered the board over a considerable period. The Secretary was instructed to make application to the Hon. Minister of Health for his consent to the carrying out of the. balance of the work under the board’s building scheme for which authority had been received by the board to raise an additional loan of £ 7OOO. Mr James Ritchie, the board s chairman, was unanimously re-elected the board’s representative on the Waipiata Sanatorium Committee for the ensuing year. The Secretary reported that two Vincent district cases had been admitted to the Waipiata Sanatorium during June. The Treasurer’s statement of receipts and payments showed the following credit balances on 20-6-39: General Account ,£456 3 s 0 ( i 1 Loan Account £9892 is with claim for Government subsidy of /.'2154 5 s 2t * owing, less accounts and salaries for payment by the Board totalling £504 13s 4d. . The Matron, Dunstan Hospital, reported that 22 patients were admitted ; 24 had been discharged, two had- died and 10 were in hospital on 3 Tho° Matron, Cromwell Hospital, reported that during May, 23 patients were admitted. 26 had been discharged. one had died, and 14 remained on * Accounts and salaries totalling ,£1546 8s id were passed for payment.
