Stronach, Morris and Co., Ltd, report for week ending Thursday, Sept. 30th, 1926, as follows :
Fat Cattle.—There wa3 a large yarding, 217 being forward, a big proportion of which consisted of prime quality bullocks, with a fair number of medium weight cows and heifers. Prices were easier by fully £1 per head on last sale's rates. Extra prime bullocks to J2s 6d, prime 10a to £l7 10s, medium £l3 to 10s, light from £lO upwards, Extra prime heifers to £l3, prime £8 to £9 .10s, light from j£o upwards Extra prime cows to £l2, medium £7 to £9, light from £4 upwards.
Fat Sheep.—There was a fair entry, 2023 being forward. Prices were easier by 2s to 3s per head on last sale's rates for prime sheep, and lighter sorts were also easier by about Is per head. Extra prime wethers to 42s 3d, prime 343 to 365, medium 29s to 335, light from 26s upwards. Extra prime ewes to 35s 9d, prime 289 to 325, medium 25s to 265, light from 23s upwards. Pigs.—There was a fair yarding of fat pigs, and prices v. ere firm at last sale's rates. Stores met with keen inquiry, at late ruling rates. Rabbitskins.— We held our usual fortnightly rabbitskin sale on Tuesday, and offered a good sized catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition was slack, more especially for winter bucks, which showed a decline of 12d to 15d per lb. on last sale's rates. Does, however, did not depreciate to any extent, and other sorts sold practically on a par. Super winter bucks to 125|d, Ist winter bucks to 118|d, 2nd winter bucks to 93|d, super winter does to IOOd, Ist winter does to 94|d, 2nd winter does to 78d, spotted winter bucks E*nd does to 70d, autumn and incoming to 67d, outgoing to 56Jd, springs to 52£d, milky does to 42£d, Ist broken to 50Jd, 2nd broken to 44Jd, summers to 34d, bloodstained winters to 55jd, Ist winter fawn to 106£d, Ist winter black to 90£d, 2nd winter black to 75d,.hareskins to 45d, horsehair to 22Jd. -
Oatf.—Very few samples are coming to hand, and millers are not keen buyers, ' A ' grade Gartons may be quoted at up to 3s 4d on trucks, country sidings. Wheat. —There is no milling wheat offering, and fowl wheat meets fair sale at up to 7s 4d ex store, Dunedin.
Potatoes. —The bulk of the potatoes held in store now require picking over, and the demand is purely local. Prime freshlypicked tables may be quoted at up to £5 ex store, Dunedin.
Chuff. —Fair consignments are coming to hand, and there is a good inquiry for prime bright oaten sheaf, suitable for shipping purposes, and this is bringing up to £5 15s ex truck, Dunedin.
RABBITSKIN RE?ORT : Wright, Stephenson and Co., report : Bidding was again very keen on the 28th inst., but at a lower range of values for certain classes. Owing to the demand from America being withdrawn values for winter bucks declined to the parity of London values and can be quoted 12d to 14d per lb, lower than last sale. Winter does were much about last sale's rates and all other sorts ruled firm.
