The lighter side of Rugby will be presented at Lowburn on Saturday next when a match reminiscent of old times, Lowburn Cookies and Cromwell Bonsors, will be played. Funds therefrom will be devoted to the Lowburn School. ''We are badly in need of money," writes a Lowburn correspondent, in forwarding the team, and for that reason the public will no doubt respond liberally. A dance at night will follow. Clark, F. Partridge, J. Swann, J. Finlay, P. Mooney, A.' Wood, and J. Smith. Cromwell's probables are not yet announced, but wo understand it will include several lights of other days. A Programme for the Vincent Tournament is to hand. On September 18th, the Juniors (under 16 years), B-grade and Seniors will be played. On Saturday, 25th, the Bantams and Schoolboys will follow. The two-days fixture is a good idea, but from the point of public patronage a different arrangement might have been made with the competitions on the respective days. Combined Vinccnt-Maniototo, with the addition of Ottrey (Hcriot) and Parker (Millers Flat), completed their tour with a match against a Metropolitan team, in Duuedin on Wednesday. The score at half-time was 11-9 in favor of the city team. They added nine points more in the second half and won 20-9. The visiting forwards did well and among the loca 1 , players calling for special mention in the team were Campbell, Sutherland, and Clark. Combined scores consisted of a try by Marslin, converted with, a great kick by Haunay, and a fine polled goal by Leyden. Tuapeka and West Otago are both reported to be in the field for the Topp Cap, at present held by Vincent. The following team has been selected to represent Vincent against Tuapeka: at Roxburgh, on Saturday. Campbell ; Haunay, Hayes, Scheib; Campbell, Clarkson, R. Sutherland.
