Messrs D.ilgcly mi l Cu. Ltd., report for week eliding March 1 Ith as follows : Messrs Dalgely and Co Ltd report having held their weekly auction sale on Monday the loth, when they offered a small catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. There was good competition and prices ruled as under Oats ;—There are now heavier offerings of new oats from the country. Good Sparrow bills suitable for seed are in good demand, while Duns and Blacks have also attention. Shippers are keen to do business, but farmers’ ideas of value are a little above what they are prepared to give, so that business is not on a very large scale. We quote prime milling 2s 2Ad to 2s :>d, good to best feed 2s Id to 2s 2.V1, inferior to medium Is Utd to 2s per bushel (bags extra.) Wheat: —The market shows no quotable change from last week. From London the reports of (ho market still continue depressed so that millers are not by any means keen buyers. The wheats most in request are prime A elvet and A r elvet car. Fowl feed is more plentiful, but has a fair enquiry. AVc quote : Prime Velvet 2s 2Ad to 2s 2d, Velvet Ear and Tuscan 2s Id to 2s 2d, whole fowl feed 2s to 2s Id, broken and damaged 2s 9d to 2s lid per bushel (bags extra.) Potatoes: —Consignments have cased a little so that prices arc a shade better. Prime sorts to £I, medium,; £2 os to £2 los, inferior £2 10s to £2 per ton (bags in.) Chaff: —There have been very light arrivals so that prices at to-day’s sale rose considerably for really prime oaten sheaf. AVe quote; Best oaten sheaf £1 10s to £1 Los, medium to good £1 to £1 ss, inferior £2 to £2 10s per ton (bags extra.)
