In one of tne Canary islands there is a tree of the laurel family that occasionally rains down in the evening quite a copious shower of walerdrope from its tufted foliage. The water comes out through innumerable little pores situated at the edge of the leaves. Four steamers are especially engaged in the exportation ol ojwps from Egypt to England.
