Cromwell Hospital Trust.

The regular monthly meeting of ’ the above was held on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. Present -Messrs J. J Ritchie (Chairman), J. Goodgor, M. * Heaney, C. Riv, W. Abel and W. The Matron reported receiving .£lO 8s 5 1 for miintenance fees for • the month, and that Til 9s lid was owing. Received. Mr Heaney on behalf of the visiting committee reported that every- , thing was very satisfactory at the hospital with the exception the fowls were still running about. Received. For the position of secretary there was two applicants, Mr James Varcoe being unanimously appointed. The chairman and other members spoke very highly on the way the secretary, Mr George Stumbles, had canned out the duties for some years past, and regret was expressed that owing to his business fully occupying his time he had to resign. A motion to that effect was carried unanimously. Accounts amounting to # £l 4 3s 7d were passed for payment. After some discussion as regards the building of the Home at the hospital, it was decided that a movement be made in this matter at as early a date as possible to carry it out, and as Mr J. L. Scott had promised the handsome donation of £SO towards the cost of building it in the present hospital grounds, lists should be sent throughout the district, so that some idea as to the amount that would be required for the Board to provide. The usual vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
