Mr Abel on behalf of the Works committee reported that the painter Mr Kemp had finished the inside work to the satisfaction of the committee and recommended payment; It was decided to procure fenders and athpans. The Treasurer’s report and bank account showed a credit balance of _£o I G.s Bd. Accounts am mounting to TIG 18s 8.1, included in this was T3O for die new piano, were passed for payment. The secretary was instructed to notify the insurance company about the new piano. Mr Jolly mentioned that the new concrete gutter caused the water to lodg'? in front of the main entrance and it was left to the Works committee to have it remedied. As the seats were lacing damaged through being outside, the Hall committee were instructed to have this attended to. A new stand for the grand piano was required and it was decided to instruct Mr Betts to have it done. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr L. Harris for the trouble he had gone to in arranging the purchase of the Brinsraead Grand. The question of dealing with the Endowment on the termination of the present lease which expires next March was discussed in committe', and it was deferred for future consideration. Before the meeting.closed Mr Porteous stated ho was leaving the district shortly, this would be his last meeting as a member of the Tust. The committee expressed regret at losing his services. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
