Lowburn School Picnic.
The Lowburn School held their annua! p : coic in the school grounds oa Wednesday last. The weather was all that could be desired for the occasion, and there was a large attendance, amongst those present being many Oromwellite?. Races for the children took up most of the afternooo. The school championship was won ty Mbort Kloogh. The spectators' race, for which there was a big held, resulted in a win for Mr If. Wood, Mr K. Brocherton being a good second. Mr Abel and Mips Alexander deserve a word of praise for the manner in which they worked to make the picnic a success. The refreshments, which were supplied by the mothers and friends, were of a tirst-class order, and received just attention. A dance in the evening brought a most enjoyable outing to a close.
