CROMWELL DISTRICT HOSPITAL.

The ordinary monthly meeting of trustees of the above Institution was held in the Secretary’s office on Tuesday, 21st August, 1894. Present ; The President and full meeting of trustees. The minutes of previous wheeling were yead and confirmed. Outward correspondence was read and approved. The surgeon’s report was read, by which it appeared that during the month of July four patients had been admitted and five remained over from previous month ; of these two were discharged cured, Maurice Leahey, of Cromwell, had died from cancer of the liver, and six remained in the wards for further treatment at the end of the month.

The surgeon’s report was received and adopted. Thr chairman reported that Mr Johnson, government auditor, had audited

the accounts for the year, he had also made an exhaustive report re the arrears of subsidy due by the Government ; he havin'' brought up a statement of all contributions received since 1890, as since the death of Mr W. The chairman suggested that the different stations in the district which always contributed a considerable sum each year, collected by the difterent managers, were entitled to have some consideration shown as regards payment of paying patients, and moved the following resolution, which was seconded by Mr Talboys and carried ; —That any employee on either Morven Hills, Tairas, Mount Pisa, Kawarau or Northburn stations shall be admitted on the certificate of the manager of the respective stations, as if he were the subscriber of 20s per annum.
