THE BENDIGO REEFS.

( From our own Correspondent.) May 17, 1870. BENDIGO LINE.

The Golden Link Claim.—loo tons of quartz has been carted from this claim for crushing at the Aurora battery, and, from the appearance of the tables after live days’ work, the result is likely to exceed that of any previous crushing from this valuable mine. The washing-up will not take place in time for your present week’s issue,- but I shall communicate the result in time for next publication. No. 1 West.—The shaft is down 96ft., and the solid reef has just been touched. The stone is reported as looking very well. I shall be able to report more fully on this claim when the contract is completed, which will be in a very short time. AURORA. LINE. Aurora Company.—The result of the washing-up from this claim is considered satisfactory by the shareholders, but I have been unable to ascertain the exact yield. In the next claim, held by D. M'Loughlan and Co., a half-share has been sold to Mr Armstrong, for the sum of £250. No. 2 West.—Messrs Shanly and Co. have a quantity of excellent stone at grass, and will be ready for a trial crushing as soon as a favorable opportunity offers. The reef in this claim bears gold all through from the surface ; and it has been traced throughout the entire length of the claim. Work has been carried on from the commencement with great perseverance and vigor. BROADFOOT it KELLY’S LINE. The trial crushing of stone from Broaclfoot'and Co.’s claim, of which 70 tons were put through, yielded about an ounce and a half tc the ton. Last week a share in this claim changed hands for the sum of £IOO, the purchaser being Mr Frank Lyons, of Bendigo.

loughnan’s (late Richmond’s) line. The result of the trial crushing from the prospectors’ claim is not yet known, but the stone is expected to turn out well, and next week I will give you fuller particulars.
