SHOOTING.

CLAY BIED MATCH AT PUKEAWA, The Pukeawa Gun Club held a clay bird match on Saturday last, when there was a good muster of shooters. There were two sweeps shot off, but the shooting on the whole was only fair. The first match ended as follows:—H. Jones (16yds) 1, D. C. Thomson (14yds) 2, L. Campbell (10yds) 3; Thomson and Campbell tied for second place, and after an interesting shoot-off Thomson won. Other competitors were J. Begg, juur. (10yds), D. Campbell (14), J. Campbell (8), F. Jones (16), J. Thomson (6), A. Thomson (14), D. Aubrey (8). . ' The second match was won by the same shooter as the first—H. Jones (18 yds) 1, F. Jones (15yds) 2, D. Aubrey (Byds) :>>. F. Jones, D. Aubrey and J. Begg tied for second place, and the shoot-off ended as stated. Other competitor's were the same as in the first match. A friendly match will be fired at Pukeawa next Saturday, when a team from Balclutha will make the journey.
