LARGEST CLOCK IN THE WORLD.

The new premises of the Royal Liver Friendly Society on the Pier Head, Liverpool, was formally opened the other day by Lord Sheffield. The premises form one of the largest office blocks in Europe and are eleven stories high, with a floor area of 40,000 square yards. The clock in the tower is the largest in the world. The dials, which are 250 ft from the ground, are 25ft in diameter, and the minute hands are 14ft long and 3ft broad. The clock will not need winding for another thirty years.
