A BOON TO BALCLUTHA.
A MARVELLOUS INVENTION. People who visited Clyde Street on Sunday evening were more than surprised at the vast number who were in the town iii spite of the fact, that the weather was bad. Although the outside looked dismal and 1 uninviting, yet the Crown buildings presented a sight that will long bo remembered. This brilliant spectacle was provided by the sole aid 'of the; famous Lux light incandescent karosen<j lamp. ■ One single lump of> 1000 candle power which is run al l the cost of.-Jd per hour lighted the whole of the building from end to end, also showing buildings opposite as if in daylight. Every business man and every householder should „be sure and see this wonderful light. The Lux has, for the past threw years, been displacing the latest devices of electricity and; gas, not only in New Zealand, but throughout the world. . In .Wellington, where probably one of the best and most superior gas aiul electric, light supplies is to be found; in Australasia, the Lux is being used in preference to any other light, and nearly all the largest firms in the city ai'c now using tho Lux.
It was rumoured by i\ well-known ecitizen of this (town that the Lux light! installed by Mr J as. Esson, of Stirling, was not giving him satisfaction, but we have been shown a letter from the firm's representative. "Stirling, Sept.
