TAHATIKA.
♦ (From Our Own Correspondent.)
On Tuesday last the Owaka Orchestral Society favoured us with one of their musical entertainments. Early in tho evening rain came on, and consequently the attendance wasn't so great as it would otherwise have been. However, although the audience wasn t a very iarge one, it was certainly a most appreciative one, and enthusiastically encored the various items, which were rendered in a manner creditable to the performers. Rev._ Mr Chisholii) fulfilled the duties of chairman, and uftor a few introductory remarks proceeded with the programme. Songs were sung by •Mrs M. Latta, Mrs G. McLatchie, and Miss Maker, Mr Chisholm and Mr Shnrpe ; cornet solo by Mr Harrison, I.lie orchestra played several pieces, which were well received, Mrs Morton acted as accompanist. 1 am sure all who were present thoroughly enjoyed the evening's entertainment, and hope to be again favoured on some future occasion by the Owaka Orchestra, The singing of God save the King" brought a very pleasant evening to a close.
