CHINA'S RESOURCES.
Sir Robert Hart, speaking at Lisburu, near Belfast (Ireland), recently, said that the education of the youth of China had been revolutionised, and he thought it certain that China would make for peace in' years to come. In 100 or 200 years the 400,000,000 people of China would be as strong in arms individually and nationally as the great Power of Germany was at the present moment. Then, owing to the leaning of China towards international peace, they would throw in their lot with the nation that had the most pacific intention, and thus would be brought about the millennium. A great deal of fighting, however, said Sir Robert, would have to be done before then. Lord Ronaldshay, in a speech at the London Institution the same day on China's gjeat undeveloped resources, said that one district was capable of supplying 700 tons of iron a day for a thousand years, and yet London horseshoes were shipped to the district and sold at high prices.
