CLUTHA SALES.

Messes Maclean axd Co. report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Balclutha on Friday last. The entiy was a fair one, and, under good bidding, all lots offered found buyers under the hammer at the following rates :— Sheep at 13s 0d to 13s, lambs at 11s 3d, ewes and lambs at 7s 2d, bullocks to L 6, pigs at 13s 6d to 6s Gd. They yarded and sold 367 sheep and lambs, 3 head, cattle, 18 pigs, and sundries, and privately, since last sale, 1220 sheep and lambs, 193 head cattle, 25 pigs.

Dalgety and Company (Limited) report having held their fortnightly sale at Balclutha on Friday, the 17th inst., when they yarded 1534 sheep and 35 head of cattle. There was a large attendance of buyers, and nearly the whole of the entry chaDged hands at good prices. We sold crossbred ewes (young) at 13s 5d to 13s 6d, do full-mouthed at 11s 6d, crossbred wethers at 12s 9d to 13s Od, lambs at 9s 2d to 11s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., report having sold at auction on Friday 16th. We yarded and sold 1100 sheep. Prime wethers up to 14s 3d, fat ewes to 12s lOd, store lambs 10s to 10s 9d, store wethers from 12s to 13s 5d ; bullocks up to L 5, cows L 4 to L 5 ; 20 pigs from 8s 6d to ss; draught colt and filly up to L 27, hacks from Li) to Lls. Also privately during the week 40 head store cattle ; 500 store lambs up to 9s, 2500 crossbred ewes at full market rates.
