BURNSIDE STOCK SALES.
Fat Cattle.— Only 118 head yarded, and as most of the butchers' stocks had run pretoy well out there was brisk bidding throughout the sale, and a distinct advance in values was established, .say from 10s to 15s per head. Prime bullocks brought from L9 to Lll sj. ordinary do L7 to L 8 10s ; small do L6 to LG 15s, prime cows from L 7 to-LB, ordinary do from L5 to L 6 12s u'd, aged and inferior from L3 to L 4 los. Fat Sheep. — 2155 penned. Sheep suitable for export were in good demand, and realised fair values cons'-lc-ring the present state of the London market, and so did any other pens of really prime sheep, whether crocsbred ewes or merino wethers. .Half aud three parts fat, sheep on the other hand were difficult to place, and had it not been that one or two graziers from the Taieri wore operating ifc would have .been almost impossible to sell them. Prime ci'osshred wethers brought from 14s to 15 1 ; 3d, ordinary do 12s to 13-3 6d, light do 10s to lls 6d, extra prime ' crossbred ewes from 12s to 14.5, one pen extra heavy 15s, ordinary crossbred ewes from 8s 6.i to JOs Gd, inferior 6s to 7s. Merino wuthers realised 7s to Its. Pigs. — Only 23 forward, consisting chiefly of suckers. These sold at from 10.s to 14s 6d. '
