Wheat. — Market continues fairly active for . all descriptions. Choice sort 3 are, however, in most request, and are boinjr freely taken up at top quotations, while medium and fowl wheat' are largely dealt in at firm prices. There is, however, a very considerable falling off in consignments from the country, and, with a steady demand for flour, millers' stocks are gradually being reduced. It is therefore anticipated present values will be well upheld right through tho season. Quotations : For prime milling velvet 2s lOd to 2s lid ; choice 3a ; medium to good do and Tnsc.in, 2s 9d to 2s lOd : medium to best red v/heat 2s 6il to 2s 9d ; medium to good whole fowls' wheat 2s 3d to 2s 5d ; broken and inferior, Is 9d to 2s 2d (ex store, sacks weighed in terms). Oats.— Business quieter than at any time cluriug the season. Both the demand for shipment nnd for local requirements lias fallen off, and to effect sales, if anyone is so desirous in the meantime, considerably reduced prices have to bo accepted. Quotations : For best short bright feed and milling Is 4, l ,d to Is s.^d ; medium to good short feed Is 3£d to Is 4,|d ; inferior to medium, Is 2d (o Is 3d : bright long Tartarians, fit for seed Is 6rl to Is 7d ; extra prime a shade more (ex store, sacks extra, net). Barley. — Very slow sale ; only extra prime samples meet with any demand. Quotations : Prime malting 3s 6d to 3s >)d ; choice a shade more ; medium to good 3s to 3s 3d ; milling 2s 3d to 2s 9d ; feed Is Gd to Is 9d (ex store, sacks extra). Grass Seeds. — No change in the market which is very quiet, and no busiuess of any importance likely to transpire until the usual spring demand sets in. Good to best dressed ryegrass seed is held for 2s 9d to 3s 3d, choice 3s 6d to 4s (ex store sacks extra, net). —Cocksfoot : Best 5Ad to Ggd, medium 4d to 5d per lb. Potatoes. — Market exceedingly flat, only a hand-to-mouth business passing, and prices declining. Quotations ; For best Derwents L 2 to L 22s Gd, medium LI 15s to LI 17s 6d, kidneys (prime, in small lots) L2 2s 6rl to L2 l2s 6d per ton (ex store, sacks weighed in, net). JJairy Produce. — Business meantime confined to local trade requirements, mostly retail. Quotations : For prime salt dairy made butter o^d to 7.i<l, medium 4d to 6d, factory made 9d to lOd ncr lb. Factory made cheese : Medium size dull at 4.^d to 4fd, loaf shape 4fd 10 sd, dairy made 2d to 4d perlb. Flax. — Market remains flit, no transactions of any consequence passing. Quotations nominal : For medium to good Ll3 10s to Ll4 10s, inferior to medium LlO to Ll2 per ton (ex store).
