STOCK SALES.

Fat Cattle.—At Burnside on "Wednesday a larg'i entry of 304 came forward, comprising all qualifies ; the mstjority beiug three-quarters fab uml inferior stock, very few prime, for which quality there is no impi-ovement to record, while for inferior sorts there was very little demand, a large number b^ing titrued out unsold;-Best bullocks brought L 6 I'Js to LS 10s—one extra pen to L 9•• medium to s*ood. "L 4 lOs to LG7s 6d i light, L 3 10s to L47s 6d : best cows, Lsss to Lfi 5s ; medium, L3 to L4 2s Od j light and inforiur, LI "17s 61 to 2 14s. Fat-. Sheep. —A. small supply; 198-4 were yarded, b-ing nearly all crossbreds —mostly ewes, good to prime ; the wethers being a slight im> provementon hist week's entries. Sales opened with a want of spirit, an improvement being noticeable after a few lots were disposed of. This, unfortunately, did not continue, krrd towards the close of the sale bidding had dropped considerably. Prices all round about equal to last week f —Best crossbred wethers, l&s 0,1 to 15s M loni' extra heavy pen ICn 81); medium do do. 12s Od to 13s Gd ; best do ewes, 12a 6d to 14s 3d; medium do do, 10s 3d to 12s 6d; merino wethers, up to 7s 3d. Lambs. —29l were yarded—medium to primd quality, n moderate demand only. Best brought 9s 6d to lls 6d ; medium. 6s 6d to 9s. Pigs. —115 were penned, comprising all sorts. Suckers sold at from bs to 7s (id ; slips, at from 10s to 15-i (id ,' stores, 10s to 18s ; porkers, 203 to 22s 2d ; baccners. 27s to 40s. Sioru Sheep. — There is not much doing privately in this line, most of the available store sheep having changed hands at the country auc tion sales .luring the week. Last week's quota* tions may bo repeated.
