INCH-CLUTHA RIVER AND ROAD BOARD.
«. r, A meeting of the above Board was held in the Drill Shed, Inch Clutha, on Saturday afternoon. -There were present — Messrs Mosley (Chairman), Anderson, and Smaill. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Valuation List for the year 1879-80 was laid on the table and approved of. The Clerk was instructed to give public notification of same in Clutha Leadkr, according to the Act. A letter was read from Mr Henderson, Solicitor, Balclutha, re specifications for contract No. 3b., River Embankment, Inch Clutha. On behalf of Mr Dnrno he made application for LSO as compensation for cancellation of contract, and for work done. The Clerk was instructed to furnish Mr Henderson with copy of specifications and general conditions, he (Mr Henderson) to pay cost of same. Messrs Hunter and Rutley applied for progress payment on contract No. 1b. — Received. A committee consisting of Messrs Andsrson, Smaill, and M'Neur, was appointed to make out a statement of accounts as between the North Molyneux and Inch Clutha subdivisions of the old Matau Road Board. The Clerk was instructed to hand over the books to the committee. The Clerk was instructed to apply to Government for the loan of LSOOO to repair flood damages on Inch Clutha. An account, John Bell, for work done and compensation, LlO6 ; Scoop, L2O, was received. It was moved by Mr Anderson, and seconded by Mr Smaill, that on and after this date the Board will not take over any more plant from contractors. — -Agreed to; The Clerk was authorised to procure the necessary valuation and rate notice papers. The Board then adjourned.
