New Advertisements, ■jgYE-LAW OF THE CLUTHA COUNTY COUNCIL BYE-LAW NO. 3. SLAUGHTER-HOUSES. In pursuance of the powers vested in them by the Counties Act, 1876, and the Slaughter-house Act, 1877, the Council of the Clutha County ordain as follows ; — No building or premises to be used for slcmghtering cattle not the property of the owner, except as herein provided. 1. No building or premises within the Clutha County shall be used as a place for the slaughtering of cattle not the property of the owner of the building or premises except licensed as hereinbefore mentioned nor shall any building or premises unless licensed as aforesaid be used for the slaughtering of cattle the property of the owner after notice served upon such owner or left for him on such premises requiring such owner to discontinue such uses. Application for License. 2. Tlie owner or occupier of any premises may apply to the Clutha County Council.-for a license to use the same as a slaughter-house and such application shall be in writing in the form set forth in the First Schedule hereto and shall be made to the Clerk of the County Council. License Fee. 3. For each such license there shall be paid by the licensee to tho County fund a fee of two pounds and each license shall remain in force from the date thereof until the 31st day of December then next ensuing and no longer. Slaughter house to be kept clean. 4. Every licensed slaughter-house shall be kept clean and the building scraped lime washed and purified so that no noxious or injurious effects may accrue to the public from such slaughter- 1 house. Offensive matter io be removed. 5. All blood offal or other offensive matters shall be removed from such licensed premises at least once in every twenty-four hours. Cattle not to be Icept longer than a certain period tvithout being slaughtered. 6. It shall not be lawful to keep within or upon any licensed pi'emises for a period longer than three days any cattle intended for slaughter. Animals unfit for human food. 7. There shall not be admitted into any licensed premises any animal which from injury or other cause would not when killed be fit for. human food nor shall there be so admitted the carcase of any animal unfit for human food. Cattle to be properly watered and fed. 8. All cattle received into pens stalls or yards belonging to any licensed slaughter-house shall be properly watered and fed. Certain persons to be admitted to licensed premises. 9. Every licensee shall admit to the licensed premises at any
