read the story of the " Two Little Kittens' ; in a manner that .astonished and pleased everybody. The prizes were distributed at the close by the 'Ite'v. Mi- M'Ara, who expressed himself as very much satisfied with the examination. He also commended the decision of the Committee for deciding to give prizes ' this year as formerly. Prizes, were tangible tokens of merit, and as sUch were much valued both by parents and ■children. We understand that valuable prize's were given by several kind friends, and among others Mr Grigor mentioned Messrs Jas. Whyte, G. Hutchins, and A. Stewart. The day's proceedings were brought to a close by old and young uniting in singing the National Anthem..
