The pnre-bred Clydesdale Stallion, Young Champion, is of a bright bay colour, with black points, stands 1G hands 2 inches hiarh. Young Champion was bred by Mr Alex. Campbell, of Breadalbane, North Taieri, and is 3 years eld. He is by "Young Napoleon;" "Young Napoleon ' by "Old Napoleon," who was imported from Scotland by the late Mr Mmmo, and was bred by Mr MA dam, Cape Tulloch. "Young Napoleon's" dam_ was "Black Violet," who gained two first prizes at Ballarat before leaving Victoria. " Black Violet's " sire, " Black Champion," who is supposed to be one of the best Clydesdale horses that ever crossed the Line. " Violet's " dam was a prizetaker both in the Old Country and Victoria. " Champion's " dam, " Brown Jess," was bred by the late Mr Nimmo, out of an imported mare. Sire, " Old Champion," imported from Victoria by Messrs Blair and Imrie. TERMS £4, Groomage ss. GAWN & IMRIE, a 527 Proprietors. rpHE celebrated Imported Clydesdale Stallion, YOUNG IRON DUKE, Will travel tins season in the Clutha, Matau, Kaitangata, and surrounding districts. PEDIGREE. Young Iron Duke is a dapple grey, stands 16^ hands high, by Iron Duke (imported), dam, Ducro, sister to Mr James Jellies prize mare. Young Iron Duke gained first prize at Warnambdol Show, and first for the best draught entire exhibited, beating all imported and colonial horses on the ground. At the Grand National Exhibition, held at Kyneton in 1869, he gained the first prize for the best colonial-bred stallion, beating Dan O'Connell, the celebrated colonial prize-taker. The same day he gained fourth prize among all comers, beating the renowned Prince Charlie, and many other imported horses. In 1870, he gained first prize, as usual, at Kyneton. In 1871 he was not exhibited. In 1872, he gained the first prize as a colonial-bred, and third prize against all comers. He has never been beaten in his class.
