DUNfiniN. Horses.—The demand is still good for heavy draughts, especially mareß, as well as for strong cab horses. On Saturday, a considerable lot came forward, mainly light and inferior, of which only a moderate proportion changed hands. Quotations first-class draughts £65 to £80; medium ditto, £3S to £45; good hacks and light harness horses, £25 to £35-, medium, £15 to £20; light and inferior, £5 to £7. Stobe Sheet?.—Wright, Stephenson and Co. have numerous inquiries for young sheep, both half-bred and merino. Old sheep are offering freely. They sold 1,750 cross-breds at quotanonp. They quote cross-breds. 9s to 10s 0d ; merino wethers, two, four, and six- tooth, 7s; ditto ditto, fullmouthed, 5p u *o 0s; ditto ewes, two and fourtoy th^ri]*- "*UB» ditto dltto« full-mouthed, 4s to ss. Ms*! JTBros. report an increasing demand for all cljfisesVjf young sheep, especially merinos. They sold seversl small lots during the week at market rates. Quotations half-breds, 2 and 4-tooth, 8s to 10s 6d; merino wethers, 6 and 8-tooth, 5s 6d to (Is; merino ewes, 2to 6-tooth, 5s 6d to 8s; full-mouthed, 4s to ss. Henry Driver reports—l have to note an increasing demand for young merino sheep, both ewes and wethers, with but few of this description offering, breeders in almost every instance wishing to dispose of the aged portion of their flocks only, ' while most buyers desire to purchase young sheep. Consequently, as yet no very large transactions have taken place. I have instructions to purchase a large number of two, four, six, and eight-tooth ewes and wethers, in equal proportions, at full prices. Cross-breds, four-tooth and upwards, 7s to 98 each; ditto, full-mouthed, 3s 6d to ss, according to quality ; ditto wethers, two, four, and 6ix-tOOth, at from 63 to 7s 6d -, ditto full-mouthed, at from 5s to 6s. Cross-breds, four-tooth and upwards, lCs 6d to lis 6d; two-tooth, 2s Gd to 10s 6d, I have during the week placed 3,000 of various descriptions. Stork Cattle.—There is still a considerable demand for grown cattle, but prices are a shade easier. Wright, Stephenson & Co. quote—Bullocks, 3to 5 years old, £5 to £6; spayed cows, £4; mixed lots, £215s to £3. Maclean Bros, quote—Well-grown bullocks may be quoted at from £6 to £7 ; cows, £4 10s to £5 10s; mixed herds, 60s to 70s each, according to breeding and quality. They sold several small lots during the week at quotations. Henry, Driver quotes—Bullocks, from three to five years old, are saleable at from £510s to £6. Fat La.mbs.-300 were penned. Wright, Stephenson & Co. sold 84 from 9s 6d to 10s 3d. Maclean Bros, sold on acconnt of Messrs Matheson Colehanandothersl2Bat from 7s to 10s 6d each according to quality. Henry Driver sold 110, and placed 10.' privately at 9s to 10s 6d for best quality, and 7s to 89 6d for ordinary. Fat Sheep.—l,4oo of all sorts were penned. Wright, Stephenson & Co. sold 395 cross-breds at from 13s to 15s, and 250 merinos, poor quality, at 8s 6d each. They quote prime quality halt-breds 2|d per lb.; ditto merinos, 2id, Privately they have sold 500 at these figureß. Maclean Bros, sold 330, on account of vendors at above quotations. They quote prime cross-bred mutton, 2fd to 3d per lb; do merino, 2jd to 2jd. Mr Driver sold at the yards on account of Messrs Blues and Duthie. Sutherland, Duncan, Shand, and others, 625 at quotations, and 800 for forward delivery. Fat CAlves.— Only a few coming forward, full prices were obtained for any good vealers, say from 30s to 60s each, according to size. Fat Cattle.—A smaller number than usual came forward only 85 being yarded, causing prices to harden a little. We quote prime beef 25s to 27s per lOOlb,; medium ditto, 21s. Maclean Bros, sold 41 head, on account of vendors, which were taken by the trade at prices ranging up to £12 per head for bullocks, and up to £8 10s for cows. They also delivered 40 head privately during the week, and quote prime quality beef 25s to 27 s 6d per lOOlbs ; medium and inferior, 20s to 22s 6d. Henry Driver sold at the yards, 34 head ou account of Messrs Lindsay, Maunseil, and others, and placed 100 • tead privately at full market rates.
