WOOL SALES.

Maclean Brothers report — > Our sale on Friday 29th ult. brought together a fall attendance of buyers and others interested. The catalogue submitted comprised 647 bales, the great bulk of which was light-conditioned greasy wool, suitable for the American demand, and— partly owing to that fact, no doubt—the bidding throughout waß chamcterised by unusual spirit, and. with one or two exceptions, all the lots offered were disposed of at prices which we consider highly satisfactory. Our sale by auction and privately, since date of last report, aggregate 668 bales. Wright, Stephenson & Co. report— We field our third sale for this season at our stores on Thursday 28th ultimo There was a full attendance of buyers, but the biddings rather lacked the spirit manifested at our previous sales; yet prices obtained were, on the whole, satisfactory. Henry Driver, reports— 1 submitted a catalogue of 1,200 bales at my sale on the 27th, and, although bidding was scarcely so * spirited as at former sales, prices were, on the whole, extremely satisfactory, in one instance 15Jd being bid for a superior lot of half-bred wool, light in grease: and, as requirements of American buyers are not nearly satisfied, all wools offering of a suitable description will command ready sale at. late rates, as also washed wools, which are eagerly competed for, and command full prices. Martin, Maitland and Co. (Invercargill), report — Farmers* lots this year are very slow in coming forward, but we have advices ofa number of lots to arrive during the next fortnight, and shall hold our next sale on Thursday 4th inst. We have sold several parcels of cross-bred indifferently got up at from lid to IHd, and one parcel of 40 bales very superior ewe and hoggett wool at 13d.
