The Progress of Musical Taste. — It is pleasant to notice the rapid increase of this delightful study,, and to note that, besides the workmen's instrumental bands which have become ' so common, many schools now organise them, partly by the subscriptions of the boys and their friends, and, by others who take interest in the schools. Drums, fifes, &c, are purchased ; and, in a surprisingly short time, the young performers are able to discourse very fair music.
