;Port row hope Hopes were raised last evening of a settlement to the long- ’ running Tauranga wharf dispute. An industrial mediator, Mr Jim Newman, confirmed at the end of a day of talks in Wellington the parties involved in the dispute had “reached an understanding.” Waterside Union representatives would meet members this morning to discuss what had taken place. A statement was ' expected after the meeting, he said.—PA. Marriage logo The Justice Department will '■ make its contribution to the 1990 celebrations with special 1990 logo imprints on marriage and birth certificates issued next year. Marriage certificates given ; at the end of the marriage ceremony and birth certificates I will carry an imprint of the , kotuku, the 1990 logo. The Justice Department’s registries group manager, Mr Wilson Bailey, said the certificates would be a lasting reminder of 1990 for the holders.—PA. Sympathy card Thousands of people have signed a sympathy card to be sent to the family of the English tourist, Monica Cantwell, killed on Mount Maunganui three weeks ago. The card, pages of signatures and words of comfort, has been bound with letters to the family from the Tauranga district Mayor, Mr Nobby Clarke, and Radio 8.0. P. manager, Mr Brian Barday. Mr Clarke said yesterday the card and $13,222 raised in an appeal to help two members of the Cantwell family fly to New Zealand, would be sent to England.—PA. Quake in N.I. A small earthquake was felt in the lower half of the North Island yesterday after two small earthquakes in Marlborough in the last two days. The latest quake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale and was centred about 10km north of Masterton. It was felt in Wellington, Masterton and surrounding areas about 3.23 a.m.—PA. ' - ■ V ■
