Chch for Ice base
The Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Jeffries, has given a strong plug for Christchurch remaining the international centre for Antarctic activities.
Mr Jeffries recently visited Scott Base, the United States McMurdo Station and the Italian base at Terra Nova Bay.
On his return he said that it was important to encourage the develoment of Christchurch as an international Antarctic Centre.
