Te Akau Lad, such a fine winner at Pukekohe a week earlier, annihilated his opposition in the DB Draught Hurdles at Ellerslie on Saturday. Ridden, as usual, by Toby Autridge, Te Akau Lad was soon in front and he gave a splendid display of jumping to score by nine lengths from Vinaman, which chased him most of the way.
