High mineral sand prices and reduced company tax almost doubled sand miner Consolidated Rutile’s net profit to sAust36.39 million (5NZ47.26M) for the year ended June 30. Net profit rose 93 per cent from 519.51 M a year ago with sales revenue up 22 per cent to $106.15M. Chief executive officer, Mr John Scott, said the major factors included high prices, particularly zircon, up $2OO a tonne in the last 12 months to $6OO a tonne.
