Woolston recruit

Woolston Working Men’s Club will have the services of a young Northamptonshire second XI allrounder, Andy Roberts, in the Canterbury first grade cricket competition next season. Roberts will spend the summer in Christchurch as part of an exchange scheme with his country. A leg-spin bowler and top-order batsman, the 18-year-old Roberts will do some coaching under the direction of David Trist, but will not be considered for Canterbury selection at any level. In the last two English seasons, two of Canterbury’s most promising batsmen, Blair Hartland and Darren Murray, have travelled to Northampton.
