Canty volleyball win
A Canterbury men’s selection downed Auckland, 2-0, in a senior representative volleyball match in Blenheim yesterday. The match doubled as trials for the New Zealand squad, with Mark Termeer (Pioneer) and Craig Waller (Shirley) leading the Canterbury side to a 15-9, 15-13 victory. Results.— Junior: Canterbury 3, Nelson seniors 0 (15-6, 15-5, 15-2); Canterbury 3, Marlborough seniors 1 (15-2, 6-15, 15-10, 15-7); Wellington juniors 3, Nelson seniors 0 (15-13, 15-13, 15-8); Wellington 3, Marlborough seniors 1 (7-15, 15-11, 17-15, 15-5); Canterbury juniors 3, Wellington juniors 0 (15-3, 15-12, 15-9): Wellington junior selection 3, Canterbury juniors 2 (15-9, 15-6, 15-17, 6-15, 15-3).
