Mt Wgtn fails to close gap
Mount Wellington failed to close the gap at the top of the Air New Zealand national soccer league when it drew, 1-1, with Waikato United in Auckland yesterday. - Napier City Rovers recorded a scrappy, 2-0, win over Waterside with goals by Martin Akers and Gary
Parker. The Waterside midfielder, Russell Cotton, was sent off after 34 minutes for foul and abusive language by the Auckland referee, Gary Lake. In other games Miramar beat Papatoetoe, 3-0, with goals by Colin Tuaa, Stephen Love and Brent O’Neill, Wellington United beat Manurewa, 3-0, and North Shore and Gisborne drew, 11. Points:—
