Loe’s jaw not broken

Fears expressed by the Waikato rugby coach, Glenn Ross, that Richard Loe had broken his jaw in the national championship game against Canterbury on Saturday were fortunately not realised by the X-rays. The rugged Waikato and All Black prop forward was sent to hospital after the game but an X-ray showed no signs of a fracture. Loe’s jaw was still a little stiff and sore yesterday but he was able to leave Christchurch with the rest of the Waikato team and has been named in the playing XV for the game against Wellington in Hamilton on Wednesday.
