Pools Act charges
PA Hamilton The first people charged with manslaughter under the Fencing of Pools Act appeared in the District Court at Huntly yesterday. Judge Twaddle suppressed the names of the Huntly couple, who were remanded at large without plea until a depositions hearing in Huntly on September 18. Defence counsel, Mr Gavin Boot, said the couple were "ordinary New Zealand middle class citizens” with no previous convictions.
