The Rev. F. Rosendale

The Rev. Francis Rosendale, a Liberal Catholic Church priest and long-time member of the Theosophical Society, died in Christchurch recently. He was 64. Father Rosendale was born in Christchurch and educated at Waitaki Boys’ High School and at an early age was baptised into the Church and soon became a server at the

altar. In 1957 he was ordained into the priesthood and later became the priest in charge for Christchurch and the Vicar-General for New Zealand. He was actively involved in the ecumenical movement, the National Council of Churches and was a member of the Inner City Ministers’ Association. Un-

til his retirement three years ago, Father Rosendale worked full-time for Gordon and Gotch. Fr. Rosendale was deeply involved with the spiritual teaching and administration of the Theosophical Society in Christchurch. His work in the Liberal Catholic Church was also very important to him.
