The person appointed will provide assessment and intervention for individuals of all age groups, couples, and families. Applicants must be registered or reglstable in New Zealand in accordance with the Psychologists’ Act 1981, and possess a Masters Degree and the Diploma in Clinical Psychology, or an equivalent. A minimum of 12 months practical postgraduate experience in Clinical Psychology is required. An Advanced Diploma of Nursing or equivalent, or an interest in undertaking post-basic education is desirable. Responsibilities will include the co-ordination of nursing services, clinical supervision and management of resources in a busy 28 bed adult medical ward, including general medicine, respiratory disorders and neurology. Education Vacancies The University of the South Pacific JUNIOR LECTURER/ LECTURER 11/LECTURER I IN CHEMISTRY - POST 89/42 (2 POSTS) APPLICANTS should have a good first degree in Chemistry; for an appointment as Lecturer I, postgraduate qualifications and good teaching/ research experience is required. Teaching and any other relevant postgraduate experience would be an advantage for an appointment as Junior Lecturer/Lecturer 11. One post is in the area of experimental physical chemistry and the other in organic chemistry. Competence in teaching the main areas of physical or organic chemistry will be required. Staff may be Involved in teaching courses through extension or in consultancy projects for associated University institutes. Research experience in soil chemistry, pesticides, natural products, chemistry or food chemistry will be an advantage. The successful applicants are expected to take up their positions on January 1, 1990 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in one of the following scales: Junior Lecturer, F 511777-13214; Lecturer 11, F 513741-15375 or Lecturer I, F 515918-21634. The University also provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary; appointment allowance; partly furnished accommodation at a rental of 12.5 per cent of salary; and a contribution of 10 per cent of basic salary towards an approved superannuation scheme. Appointment will be for a contract period of three years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
