Ashburton stakes up
PA Ashburton The Ashburton Racing Club has made significant stake increases to the two feature races at its spring meeting in early September. The club secretary, Trevor Robertson, said the stake for the DB ALT John Grigg Classic for three-year-olds has been increased from $lB,OOO to $20,000. A $2OOO increase has also been applied to the Ashburton Cup which will now carry a stake of $12,000.
