Telecom and deaf

Sir,—l was interested to read of the new telephone boxes with better reception for the hard of hearing. What a great idea. But has Telecom considered that unless it makes these boxes soundproof they will be no help at all, as the noise of passing traffic drowns the voice of the person one is calling. Since there are no inside telephone boxes at post offices now, I find it impossible to make a phone call and, as we have no home phone, I just write a letter instead. — Yours, etc., V. MITCHELL.
