By

DAVID CLARKSON

Sydenham’s historic post office building will have no post office from Monday, when New Zealand Post moves two blocks along Colombo Street. Postßank will remain in the 1911 building on the corner of Brougham Street and Colombo Street. New Zealand Post will reopen in roomier premises in the Sydenham

Money Club building at 389 Colombo Street.

The five post office staff at the present branch would transfer to the new office, said the district manager for New Zealand Post’s Christchurch metropolitan retail area, Mr Pat Nicholas. The present office would close on Friday evening, and the private boxes would be shifted overnight to the new site ready for customers on Saturday.
