Aust. CPI up 2.4p.c.
NZPA-AAP Canberra Australia’s consumer price index rose 2.4 per cent in the June quarter to be 7.6 per cent higher than June last year, the Statistics Bureau said. The CPI rose 1 per cent
in the March quarter for an annual rise of 6.8 per cent. In the June quarter last year, the CPI rose 1.7 per cent for an annual 7.1 per cent increase. The 2.4 per cent rise was within market expectations.
