SNOOKER

Boon Hay scored the only 3-0 win in the opening round of division 1 snooker, when it whitewashed Papanui. In the local derby, Richmond A beat Richmond B 2-1. Peter de Groot (Richmond A) who captured his first Canterbury senior snooker title recently, continued his good form when he beat the experienced Brian Kirkness in two straight frames. In the space of a fortnight three club members have targeted the eleventh hole, "Crossways,” a par-3 of 130 m, to find the cup with their tee shots. The trio to have drained the funds are Duncan Bruce, Derek Hamilton and Ray Collins.
