Organ appeal concert
A choral and orchestral concert is being held on July 30 to raise funds for the St Luke’s Organ Restoration Fund. The organ, which has been in use for 105 years, was part of the original church. $150,000 is needed for restoration work, of which one third has so far been pledged by parishioners. Taking part in the concert will be the Addington Workshops W.E.A. Choir, the Aeolian Choir, the South Brighton Choral Society and the Christchurch Orchestral Society. Frank Dennis will conduct the combined choirs. The concert will be held at St Luke’s Church, on the corner of Manchester and Kilmore Streets, at 2.30 p.m.
