Psychology lectures
The Canterbury Rugby Union has accepted the opportunity to attend lectures at the Christchurch College of Education on Friday evening from a world-renowned sports psychologist, Brian Miller, of Britain. Players in the Canterbury A team and the province’s development squad have been invited to the first lecture, and the second part of the programme will be for staff coaches, representative selectors and a coach from each club.
• The standard of attire at after-match functions at Lancaster Park drew criticism from Canterbury administrators at
their management committee meeting last evening. It was moved that ties be compulsory and that team managers bring the dress regulations to the notice of their players. • Senior players better beware if they have fitted illegal sprigs. A random check will be made by referees jn charge of senior competition matches on Sunday. • The convener of the competitions committee, Craig Sullivan, recommended that the runnerup in the country championship, meet the winner of the town Trust Bank plate championship instead of the runner-up in the trophy final.
