By OLIVER RIDDELL in Wellington The role of the Minister of Commerce and Energy, Mr Butcher, in the “no-confidence” vote against the Prime Minister three weeks ago, was aired in Parliament yesterday. Mr Winston Peters (Nat, Tauranga) asked Mr Lange if he intended to dismiss Mr Butcher from • ijs Cabinet and if not why not. 'Mr Lange said he did not because there was no need to. When Mr Peters then asked Mr Lange why he was keeping Mr Butcher in the Cabinet, Mr Paul East (Nat., Rotorua) interjected — “because he has no choice.” Mr Lange said he did not need to do anything to anyond after the vote because the challenge to him had failed and he was still Prime Minister.
