Many entries in pollution contest

The Canterbury United Council expects a good response from Christchurch school pupils to a competition demonstrating their awareness of air pollution and wise energy use. The council’s chief executive, Dr Chris Kissling, said many children had approached the council for background material to help them in the competition. The competition asks

the children to prepare a poster, calendar or ; video recording demonstrating the problems of air pollution. Entries can be prepared individually or collectively. Prizes ranging from $3OO to $BOO are offered in three sections — primary schools, Forni 1 to 4 pupils, and Form >5 to 7 pupils. Entries will close on July 31.
