Fog disrupts flights at Chch Airport
Fog closed Christchurch Airport on four occasions yesterday. About 400 passengers booked on Air New Zealand flights were delayed and two flights were diverted from Christchurch. An Ansett 737 was diverted to Dunedin and an Air New Zealand flight from Tokyo was diverted to Auckland. Christchurch Airport
was closed by fog about 2 a.m. and re-opened 50 minutes later, but closed again at 3.10 a.m. for 20 minutes. Fog again closed the airport between 5 a.m. and 6.40 a.m., and between 9.10 a.m. and 10 a.m. Three early-.morning Air New Zealand flights through Christchurch were cancelled because of the fog.
