Abortion opponents arrested
NZPA-AP New York Police arrested nearly 600 abortion opponents yesterday who tried to blockade clinics around the nation, including one in Los Angeles disrupted by shouting and shoving
matches between protesters and abortion-rights advocates. Protests also took place in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Virginia. Police arrested 250 of-
the approximately 500 members of the national anti-abortion group, Operation Rescue, who staged a sit-in that > blocked doors to the Los Angeles Midland Medical Clinic.
