Prison five weeks ago, was caught last week stowed away on an Aus-tralia-bound ship leaving the Port of Tauranga. Gray, aged 23, was discovered in a locked empty cabin aboard the Tasman Venturer during a, routine Customs search.

Gray was one of five prisoners to stage a break-out from Paparua on April 19. He had been serving the custodial term for aggravated robbery. Judge Callander said on Friday that the jail term extension was the same penalty dealt to the other recaptured- escapers.
